Young Victims of Human Trafficking Need Safe Places
The average age of entry into the commercial sex industry in the U.S. is between 12 and 14 years. Texas is ranked the #2 state in the US involved in human trafficking.
Plano West Rotary already led a collection of items in partnership with Greek Isles Grille and Taverna, including $25 gift cards from Kroger & Tom Thumb, non-perishable foods, paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, etc), eating utensils (paper plates, plastic utensils & cups, etc) and small craft projects for kids ages 4-9 years old.
These items are supporting the Refuge City nonprofit that provides places of restoration and safety for domestic victims of human trafficking and/or sexual exploitation.
This cause is important to the Kostas Family & Greek Isles Grille and Taverna, the "home" of Plano West Rotary Club.
The Kostas family is very generous with their hearts & their time, so please continue to support this local family-owned business by eating at their establishment! I recommend the spanikopita :)
