On Saturday, March 30, 2024, Plano West Rotary Club once again demonstrated its commitment to protecting the environment, one of Rotary International’s primary areas of focus, when club volunteers worked to pick up roadside litter.
Our club adopted a stretch of K Avenue between Parker Road and Spring Creek Parkway several years ago, and cleans up trash and debris there bimonthly.
On March 30 our crew worked from 9-11am for a combined total of 14 hours under the leadership of our club member Glen Thornton. Rotarians Pieter Niehaus, Emmanuel Smart and Jennifer Shertzer and three community volunteers joined Glen to pick up at least seven large bags of trash.
You can join us at the next roadside clean-up on May 18 at 9am. Safety vests and trash pick-up gear are all provided, and teenagers are welcome to serve. Sign up here.
