Helping Youth Thrive: What Science Says About Mental Health and Resilience
How do stress, anxiety, and life circumstances shape the developing minds of youth? In this talk, Dr. Warren will share new research on how the brain’s “braking system” for behavior develops in adolescence, and how factors such as family stress, socioeconomic conditions, and support networks influence mental health and resilience. The talk will also explore the implications of this work and emerging ideas about how schools, families, and community organizations might use this science to better understand and support youth.
