How to Help Your Body Heal Itself
Jul. 17, 2018
It seems like something out of a futuristic sci-fi movie – by using the stem cells of your own body, many illnesses or conditions can be treated - your injured tissues can be regenerated and your pain and discomfort relieved – naturally. But it’s not science fiction; it’s science fact and it’s here now. According to John Roland, MD, a board-certified Family Medicine physician and a certified Stem Cell and Functional Medicine practitioner, stem cells serve as a kind of internal repair system in your body. They are taken from your own fat tissue and are relocated to another area of your body where there is disease or injury. Because you are receiving your own cells, the chances of immune system rejection are virtually zero and the results can be long lasting. In his talk, “How to Help Your Body Heal Itself,” Dr. Roland will share with your members:

Take Me Home Pet Rescue
Jul. 24, 2018 12:00 p.m.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to talk about Take Me Home Pet Rescue. Trish Clark and myself (Sandy Landers) will address the group. Trish Clark has been in the title insurance business as an escrow officer/manager for over 20 years. Even though she enjoyed her work she was happy to retire in 2016. Among her many interested first and foremost is her 4 grandchildren and animal rescue. Trish has worked in animal rescue for over 6 years. Other interests include working in her yard, traveling and spending time with her husband and great friends. I retired from The Senior Source in March 2017, after a 27 year career as the CFO of the organization. A transplant from Massachusetts, I have been living in Dallas/Richardson for over 30 years. I became familiar with Take Me Home Pet Rescue about 6 years ago. I have 4 dogs and one cat- all rescue. Like Trish, I enjoy rescue and traveling and spending time with wonderful friends. |

Short program followed by food packing service project at ~12:30
Aug. 14, 2018
Our Benevolence Committee chose Kids Against Hunger/Send Hope as one of our 2017-18 charities to support. This will be our second time to package food for these children on the Moskito Coast of Honduras. Tom Brian is also a Rotarian and provides food, dental care and educational support for these children. We will need a minimum of 10 people, preferrably more, for the "assembly line" packaging, which will start about 12:30, after we have lunch together and hear Tom speak about this program. The assembly may only take about 30 minutes, depending on how many people help, so bring a friend to come help!
